The title says it all folks! UVU had Coach Herman Boone come speak in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day! His talk was pretty cool. It started off talking about Civil Rights and about the life of Dr. King. It was quite brilliant actually. Towards the end he talked about his football team. Then he said something that I really liked. He once told his team, "Watch your beliefs boys, your beliefs become your thoughts, your thoughts become your words, your words become your actions, your actions become your habits, and your habits become your character. And a team without character will never have a legacy." He then went on to define a team as "A group of people with one vision, one intent and, more than anything else, one heart beat." I thought that was so cool! Coach Boone has always been a hero of some sorts for me, so listening to him was way cool! I also got an autographed picture! Party like a rockstar!!

The Farewells Begin
So, the commencement of all of the 2011 farewells has begun. Today I went to listen to two of my good friends give their talks. Kij Bennett and Skyler Prochnow, you both did an a amazing job!!
I can't believe that everyone is starting to leave already. It seems like yesterday that we were all little freshmen in high school! We were all just trying to figure out life, we all thought that we ruled the world because we were in high school, and we all thought that 5 years later would never come...=)
A couple of good memories: let's see...
With Kij I remember playing ultimate frisbee at lunch all of the time. One time, in particular, the night of our little "senior movie." We were all playing on the football field and Kij and I both went up for the frisbee. I got ahold of it and we crashed right into eachother....he went to the ground =) I can still hear Ashton's voice, " Kij, I still don't get how you played football, and she knocked you to the ground." =)
With Skyler...well, there are so many! I remember in kindergarten I went up and kissed him on the cheek...think that scared him away for a good while! =) Then, there's all of those years we went to Otter Creek; fishing, playing cards, watching movies, skipping rocks and, of course, riding 4-wheelers and having his breakdown and driving me back to camp to get help. =)
Needless to say, I'll definitely miss them both! I have two more in two weeks so I'll definitely have another post. Much love!! The church is true!

Welcoming 2011
Well, much to my despair, 2011 wasn't quite welcomed like it should have been. Seeing as I am now a "big girl" and am in the working world, I was unable to join any friends or family for the new year. I worked from 2-10 and then came home and started cooking my fettucinne alfredo shells, chicken, and peanut butter brownies. Yes friends, I cooked...it's weird. The only thing I did wrong was put the chicken on the wrong burner, leaving me completely puzzled as to why it was taking so freaking long for it to cook. Once the lightbulb came on and the chicken was moved, it took a total of 5 minutes for it to cook. Hooray!! Just as I was dishing up my main course and drinking some sparkling cider from the bottle, Jojo came over and asked if I wanted to watch a zombie movie. Of course, I said yes. =) The zombie movie was delightful and so was the MTV Snooki ball drop. =) We stayed up 'till 2:30ish watching MTV and then I hit the sack. Not much for the new year, so 2012...you'd better be prepared, cuz I'm doing it right in about 365 days!! =)
